About Prof. Dr. Stefan Heinemann

Prof. Dr. Stefan Heinemann focuses on purposeful AI—combining economic and ethical perspectives to foster successful collaboration between humans and AI agents across both private and public sectors. His work spans medicine and healthcare, energy supply, and all industries that face complex structures and challenges requiring change and resilience to succeed sustainably.

He is a Professor of Business Ethics at FOM University, an elected member of the Ethics Committee of the Medical Faculty at the University of Duisburg-Essen, a member of the “AI in Internal Medicine” working group within the “Digital Transformation of Internal Medicine” commission of the German Society of Internal Medicine (DGIM), and a specialist advisor to various research and educational institutions. Additionally, as a philosopher and theologian, he serves on the scientific advisory board for “Digital Transformation” at AOK Nordost, is a board member of the Cologne Science Roundtable, and chairs the board of “Science City Essen.” He is also a co-initiator of www.dataprotection-landscape.com, a platform that addresses the multidimensionality of data protection.
