Flying News: Heartbeat Medical wins 20+ health insurance funds for quality contract PROValue Endo

The healthcare company and Flying Health community member Heartbeat Medical is reporting a significant increase in demand for its patient-centered quality contract, PROvalue Endo, aiming to improve the quality of life and care for patients in endoprothetics.

  • Founded in 2014 in Berlin, Heartbeat Medical is a digital health startup that supports healthcare stakeholders in collecting health data with a focus on Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Real-World Evidence (RWE). The PROvalue Endo quality contract based on §110a SGB and jointly developed with Germany’s largest health insurer Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) addresses these challenges with a focus on endoprothetics.

  • The PROvalue Endo contract enables continuous one-year monitoring of PROMs for endoprosthetic patients by the treating clinics, ensuring early detection of complications and increased patient safety. For clinics, the contract opens the possibility of reimbursement based on quality-of-life measurements. The preceding pilot started in September 2022 already enrolled around 600 patients in the program.

  • In total more than 20 German statutory health insurance companies, representing over 25 million policyholders, are now part of PROvalue Endo, the joint initiative of the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) and Heartbeat Medical and thus show a significant shift toward outcome-oriented care models.

We congratulate our community member Heartbeat Medical on this milestone and look forward to jointly shaping the future of outcome-oriented care all over Germany!
